My name is Nicole Harris and I have a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Chicago State University. I have been working in the field of mental health since 2014 and have experience working with individuals from many different cultures and backgrounds. I also have experience working with adolescents who have displayed at risk behaviors, individuals with chronic mental illnesses, and families.
I believe that we are all human, who have human experiences. Sometimes those experiences affect the quality of our lives and how we move forward. Those experiences also affect how we view the world. From the ages of 10-15 years old, I experienced several deaths of people that were really close to me. However, as I got older I developed the belief that despite tragedy and loss people are resilient and can get through anything when they feel safe and have support. I value the therapeutic relationship and providing a safe space for my clients to process and be their true selves. My clinical approach is practical, person-centered, and integrates cognitive behavioral therapy.
