Hi, My name is Verniece Green-Fulford and I am a Mental Health and Substance Abuse Counselor. I have worked within the field of behavioral health since 2004 and had the pleasure of working with individuals of many different cultures. We all have a unique way in which we view the world. Our experiences shape our world view and sometimes negatively impact our behavior and choices.
I am a believer that we all have an innate ability to heal ourselves however we sometimes need help accessing this ability. My passion for counseling developed as a child when I found myself drawn to the art of listening. I found comfort in being a person people looked towards to discuss their innermost thoughts, feelings and troubles. Another reason I was drawn to the counseling field is because as a result of my own personal trauma, I had to engage in therapy to cope.
Finding a therapist who was the right fit for my needs was an incredible feat! Eventually I found someone who was able to open my eyes to a brave new world, as I was able to work through my trauma and the experience prompted me to further my education. Therapy is a partnership. From the moment of first contact to the last session held, partnership and trust are established and maintained when I work with my clients.
Through our work together, you will gain insight, direction, self-compassion and develop practical coping skills. Wellness is an investment. When you put your own wellness first the puzzle pieces in your life start to fall together to make a complete and balanced picture.
